Swax is a Sarafina original product. Sara wanted to create a medium that could be used to both secure and smooth wool. Talbot makes it in house, and it's hand poured into individual molds made by our very own Marsha. Your Swax bar will weight approximately 1.75 Ounces. It is scored to allow easier breaking into usable amounts.

Swax can be tinted with our Paverpol Powdered Pigments. Alone, it is a semi transparent light ochre color. (It will tinge white wool. Perhaps, down the road, we will be able to provide a truly clear version. Also keep in mind when you use Blue, it may warm it towards green.)

You will also need an applicator for the Swax. We suggest Colour Shapers for this task.

We have created several videos that show the many ways Swax can be used in you needle felted projects. Please see the links below. Many of these techniques also use Paverpol Medium.

This one-step water-based creme gives sculptors, dollmakers, mixed media artists, painters, interior and exterior designers, theatre set crews, quilters and fabric artists a serious new medium to expand their scope of work, either indoors or outside.

Love the SWAX for keeping the wool stuck to tiny toes! Easy to change up the color by adding powdered pigments. I like how it’s easy to kinda sculpt into shape once it’s cooled a bit. I put some bunny butter on my fingers so the SWAX won’t stick to my fingers then I can shape and manipulate the areas that are coated with SWAX.

This is literally the best product ever. A little difficult to work with if not using the bunny butter on your hands first but still amazing

There Is Help for Tiny Toes!

Trying to master wrapping the ends of tiny toes, claws, horns and antlers was extremely frustrating. The Swax helped so much! I also realized that one should not place an order for melty things to be delivered on a 109 degree day in Las Vegas! No worries, it wasn't a blob. I just let it cool in the AC for a few minutes and the break-away blocks stayed nicely in tact. (It also gave me an excuse to buy a new wax melter...though where that HUGE bag of tealights went, I have no idea. I lost them in a de-clutter frenzy).
